The two Henry County police officers who were shot at a Stockbridge home ahead of Thursday’s fatal 16-hour standoff have been released from the hospital, police confirmed.
Officers Taylor Webb and Keegan Merritt are out of Grady Memorial Hospital and recovering at home, Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith said Saturday.
Both officers have been placed on light duty administrative status.
Webb and Merritt were shot Thursday morning while responding to a “trouble unknown” call in the typically quiet Eagle Ridge subdivision.

They thought they were there to help an injured woman.
Body camera footage released Friday shows Webb pull on a rubber glove as he approaches the home. Through the garage door windows, officers could see an unresponsive Sandra White on the ground, police said.
The officers, both in their 30s with seven years’ experience at the department, forced their way inside the home to help the woman when shots rang out.

Webb was shot in the chest and hip. Merritt was struck in the hand.
“Shots fired! Shots fired!” one officer is heard yelling in the video.
“I’m hit! I’m hit!” another officer shouts.
The officers were able to get out of the home safely, but nobody else inside survived.
By the time the standoff was over, three people were dead: White, a nurse who was nine months pregnant, her 16-year-old son Arkeyvion and the alleged gunman — White’s boyfriend Anthony Bailey — who apparently shot himself.
White was due to deliver a baby boy on April 29 and her parents had planned a surprise baby shower for her today.
Instead, they said, they must now plan a funeral.
A vigil for the slain family was planned for 6 p.m. Saturday at Stockbridge City Hall.
