Nearly three months after a 3-year-old was killed in a suspected drunk-driving crash in North Georgia, the man police say pinned the child between his car and an SUV has been indicted on homicide charges.

A grand jury indicted James Holcomb on seven charges, including three counts of vehicular homicide, White County District Attorney Jeff Langley said.

Holcomb, 36, is accused of smashing his 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche into a parked and unoccupied 2012 Ford Explorer on Jan. 17, hitting 3-year-old Easton Cain. The incident occurred in an Ingles grocery store parking lot in Cleveland.

Cain was standing behind the SUV at the time of the crash. Holcomb was not injured.

Holcomb also faces DUI, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license charges.

At the time of the crash, Holcomb was out on bond for a September drug-related incident in which witnesses say his own child was seen wandering in a motel parking lot, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The son of a White County commissioner, Holcomb has nearly a 20-year history of drug- and alcohol-related arrests. Since 1998, he had been arrested 12 times.

Holcomb’s next court date is May 17.
