Homicide units are investigating after a human bone was found in northwest Atlanta on Sunday, police said.

Officers spotted “possible human remains” near Echo and Wheeler streets about 7:30 p.m., Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender said. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office was called to the scene and confirmed that the bone belonged to a human, Bender said.

The investigation is ongoing.
