A former Chattahoochee High School teacher was sentenced to 25 years in prison after he admitted to molesting a 13-year-old girl, according to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.

Preston Paris will also serve a year on probation after pleading guilty to charges of child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and statutory rape, the DA’s office said.

Paris was a social studies teacher and swim coach at the high school in Johns Creek, AJC.com previously reported.

A Roswell detective previously said that Paris and the victim met on Tinder and then communicated through Snapchat.

During his testimony in 2018, Detective Chad White read aloud a portion of the messages Paris sent the victim, in which he referred to himself as “daddy.”

According to White, Paris picked up the victim July 13 and drove her to his apartment on Barrington Oaks Ridge in Roswell. There, they talked for a while, then went into his bedroom and had sex.

He then drove her back home, according to police.

The 13-year-old attended the same Cobb County school as Paris’ daughter. Roswell police became aware of the sexual encounter when the teen told her gym teacher that she and Paris were “dating.”

Paris was arrested by Roswell police at Chattahoochee High on Oct. 1, 2018. He was “immediately separated from our district” following the allegations, a Fulton County Schools spokeswoman said at the time.

Preston Paris, 32, was charged with child molestation, statutory rape and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
