A former special needs paraprofessional caught with hundreds of pornographic photos and videos involving children will spend nearly three years in federal prison, authorities said.
Adam Brent Nesbitt, who worked as an aide at Woodland Elementary School in Sandy Springs, was sentenced to two years and nine months in jail, followed by 10 years of supervised release, prosecutors said Wednesday.
The 41-year-old was caught with about 800 pornographic photos and 600 videos, most of which depicted children under the age of 12, authorities said in a news release. He pleaded guilty to the charges in August.

Nesbitt was arrested at the elementary school last December and immediately fired, AJC.com previously reported.
The Rockmart man was investigated after officials with Facebook and Dropbox notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about child porn stored on his accounts, authorities said.
“It is disturbing when we learn that a person entrusted to care for our children engages in this type of disgusting behavior,” U.S. Attorney BJay Pak said. “Tragically, possession of child pornography continues to victimize and abuse the children in the images every time they are disseminated.”
At the time of Nesbitt’s arrest, a Fulton County Schools official said the district was not aware of any allegations involving students.
