A Florida man was arrested after police say he slapped his girlfriend with a cheeseburger.

According to a Facebook post on the Martin County Sheriff's Office official Facebook page, Kyle Jamison Jones, 30, got into an altercation with his live-in girlfriend.

The girlfriend told police Jones woke her up by slapping her in the face with a cheeseburger, pulled her hair and kicked her down the stairs.

"When deputies arrived, the victim was visibly upset and covered with particles of the food item," police said. "Jones admitted only to a verbal dispute, but refused to say anything about becoming physical with the victim."

Police charged Jones with battery. He was booked into the Martin County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
