A fight in the food court at Lenox Square on Saturday afternoon led to a scare among some shoppers who believed shots had been fired, Atlanta police said.

Officers were dispatched to the mall about 2:15 p.m. after receiving reports of gunshots, police spokesman James White said.

Police said that was not the case, but frightened patrons began running from the food court when two people started fighting near the Checkers.

No injuries were reported and officers are still working to gather information about the people involved, White said.
