Gwinnett County investigators are looking for a man accused of stabbing a driver multiple times during a road-rage incident.
On Monday night, a Dahlonega man was stopped at a red light on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard near Little Mill Road, near Sugar Hill, according to Gwinnett police. The suspect stopped beside the victim, got out of his car and stabbed the driver numerous times, Sgt. Jake Smith said.
The victim, who was stabbed in his stomach and back, told investigators the suspect opened the driver-side door of his Toyota Tacoma and began assaulting him, the police report states. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is not naming the man who was injured to protect his privacy.
The injured man, who is expected to survive, was able to take a picture of the suspect’s car before he left the area. When officers arrived at 7:21 p.m, the man was bleeding on the ground, and there was blood inside his truck. The man was taken to a Gainesville hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as approximately 5-feet-8 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. He had a shaved head and is believed to be between the ages of 30 and 40, according to police. The man was last seen driving an early 2000s model, blue Mazda Protege.
