A 19-year-old Atlanta woman was shot to death and left naked early Tuesday in Oakland City Park, police said.

About 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, officers responding to a person injured call found Bridget Shiel nude in a grassy area near the basketball court.

“Nothing leads us to believe that the assault took place at that location,” police Maj. Adam Lee III said during a news conference. “So we are trying to identify where she lives, where she may have worked, her lifestyle, criminal history — anything that might lead us to identifying why she ended up in Oakland City Park.”

Shiel had multiple gunshot wounds to her back, buttocks and legs, Lee said.

“We don’t have any leads at this point,” Lee said. “She was discovered completely nude. No clothing items were present, no purse or anything like that.”

He said officers will be checking if anyone has camera footage in the area and trying to talk to family members and friends of the victim to determine a cause of death.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the police.
