A former Roswell teacher faces child cruelty charges for allegedly pulling a 7-year-old’s hair so hard that one of her braids came out.

Josie Djachechi was a teacher at the International Charter School of Atlanta when she allegedly got angry with the student, Roswell police confirmed.

“She was messing around with some hand sanitizer, and the teacher got upset with her for that,” Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland told Channel 2 Action News. “The teacher yanked her hair back so hard that it actually pulled one of her braids out of her hair.”

This incident took place in September 2015, and police obtained warrants for felony child cruelty then. However, Djachechi wasn’t arrested until about two weeks ago during a traffic stop, according to the arrest report obtained by AJC.com.

The school issued a statement to Channel 2: “The International Charter School of Atlanta (ICSAtlanta) does not provide comments on former employees and personal matters. Please note that Ms. Djachechi has not been employed with ICSAtlanta since October 2015.”
