A Roswell man faces reckless conduct charges after he allegedly left his child in an unlocked car in a Walmart parking lot, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Quantavius Johnson, 27, told police he was shopping for a shirt at the Mansell Road store, the news station reported. The incident occurred two weeks ago.
Walmart employees noticed Johnson’s car was running with the child inside and flagged down a nearby police officer, according to Channel 2.
“The vehicle was left running,” Roswell police Officer Lisa Holland told Channel 2. “The air conditioner was on, and the child was, seemed to be healthy, it wasn't in distress.”
Police believe the child was left in the car for 15 minutes, but Holland said anything could’ve happened.
“There are so many things that could go wrong and it's unacceptable for a child to be left in the car,” she said.
The child was picked up by relative, police told Channel 2. Johnson has since bonded out of the Fulton County jail.
