Atlanta police have arrested one of two men accused of shooting a Macy’s employee in the Lenox Square parking deck just before Christmas.

D’Vonte Dean, 24, of Jonesboro, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with intent to rob, armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said.

The search continues for his alleged accomplice, who has not been identified.

Police said the Dec. 21 shooting was the result of a botched carjacking after the Macy’s employee refused to hand over her keys.

The incident occurred about 12:15 p.m. when the woman was approached by two men as she returned to her car on the first floor of the garage, Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said previously.

The woman, who was shot once in the stomach, was taken to the hospital and released the same day.

Following the incident, the suspects were seen running toward a MARTA station and boarding a train, police said.

Dean remains held at the Fulton County Jail without bond, records show.
