A College Park man was killed Thursday evening in a fiery collision with a tractor-trailer outside a Costco Distribution Center in Union City, authorities said.

The fatal crash occurred about 10 p.m. near the warehouse on South Fulton Parkway, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Investigators said the tractor-trailer, driven by 50-year-old Douane Carby of Rex, attempted to turn left across the divided roadway when he was broadsided by a Mazda that was traveling west.

The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to burst into flames and become “fully engulfed,” the GSP said in a statement. The big rig’s trailer also caught fire.

The driver of the Mazda, 62-year-old Manuel Mosley, was killed in the crash, authorities said. Carby was not injured.

The wreck remains under investigation and it’s unclear if Carby faces any charges.
