Johns Creek police seized nearly 20 pounds of candy laced with THC, an ingredient found in marijuana.

“They look like gummy worms or peach rings or chocolates and caramels that wouldn’t stand out to the average parent knowing there’s any danger there,” Johns Creek spokesman Captain Chris Byers told Channel 2 Action News.

Since there’s no regulations for the candy, there’s no way of knowing if it has THC in it, Byers said.

“I would want to be very careful about the candy the kids are eating,” he said. “The problem with eating marijuana is that the effects are stronger.”

Police did not release any information about the person arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
