A cafeteria fight before school Monday at Kennesaw Mountain High ended with seven students in handcuffs.
Four of those arrested by school district officers were at least 18 years old, said Donna Lowry, spokeswoman for the Cobb County School District.
Lowry said she couldn't release the names of those arrested, even the 18-year-olds. The charges include disruption of a public school and affray.
Principal Mark Trachtenbroit addressed the fight on the school's website saying that "two student groups fought."
Lowry said there was no evidence of gang activity.
The principal's note tried to reassure parents and community members about the situation: "Please know that student safety is our top priority and the behaviors exhibited yesterday will not be tolerated. Kennesaw Mountain High School will always prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any activities which jeopardize student and/or staff safety."
Extra police officers were on school grounds Tuesday, Lowry said. The school district is still working out possible disciplinary actions for the students.
