Two people were arrested Monday in connection with the death of a 7-year-old girl who was shot in the head last month, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said.

Siblings Antoine Allen, 21, and Keadesia Allen, 23, face charges of felony murder and aggravated assault in the fatal shooting of Mariasia Thomas, according to a news release.

Thomas was injured during an April 12 drive-by shooting while she sat on her couch inside her foster home along Satellite Boulevard in Ellenwood, AJC.com previously reported. Around 11 p.m., three bullets hit the home’s front door, and four bullets went through two windows.

She died April 22.

“She was an innocent little girl just watching TV on the couch,” her biological mother, Chanrica Boyd, previously told Channel 2 Action News. “It’s still unreal that this is my child that was shot up in this house due to something that wasn’t even involving her.”

Thomas was in the custody of the Division of Family and Children Services at the time of the shooting. She had been in the foster home for about two weeks.

Antoine and Keadesia Allen are being held in the DeKalb County Jail, the sheriff’s office said.

“This senseless shooting was solved by the great work of our law enforcement partners and the DeKalb County police homicide and gang units,” officials said in the release.
