Investigators believe a security guard killed Wednesday behind a northeast Atlanta recording studio was targeted.

Atlanta police found the 30-year-old man shot around 11 p.m. in the parking lot behind LoudHouse Studios on Liddell Drive. He had multiple gunshot wounds to the head, Lt. Andrea Webster told Channel 2 Action News.

“The victim was targeted and he was apparently the only one there that we have located,” Webster said. “We have not found any witnesses as yet.”

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died. He was identified by his family as Scott Marthone, the news station reported. His brother, Tahlik Woodall, said Marthone was a competitive bodybuilder who worked security for the studio.

“I just feel like they killed him for no reason,” Woodall told Channel 2. “Like how do you kill someone for doing their job? We just miss him.”

Officers impounded a couple of cars believed to be connected to the incident and are hoping surveillance cameras in the area captured the shooter. The studio is located off Manchester Street and Cheshire Bridge Road.

“We’ll be checking the footage from the nearby businesses to see if we can find any other leads based on that footage,” Webster said.
