Workers reported having issues with the patient, but he died before authorities arrived, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The cause of death is unclear. Detectives are waiting on toxicology reports.
“It's not criminal just yet. Once we get a little more information from the Medical Examiner’s Office we will be able to figure out where this investigation is going,” Gwinnett police spokeswoman Cpl. Michele Pihera told the news station.
The facility is being investigated by Gwinnett police for the more than 40 complaints about patient abuse and neglect, AJC.com previously reported.
