One man was killed and another was injured after they were each shot multiple times at a northwest Atlanta apartment complex Monday morning.

The deadly double shooting took place along Abner Terrace in the Flipper Temple complex, according to Atlanta police spokesman Officer Steve Avery. Officers who were at the complex on a different call were flagged down on a report of a person shot about 12:20 a.m., Avery said.

The officers found a 23-year-old man who had been shot several times, according to police. The man, later identified as Anthony McGhee, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man was discovered nearby with “multiple, non-life-threatening gunshot wounds,” Avery said. He was taken to a hospital, where he is stable.

The shooting comes on the heels of a violent weekend in Atlanta that left more than two dozen people injured and five others dead, police said. The youngest victim was 8 years old.
