A 60-year-old Fayette County man working on cable lines in a bucket truck died Thursday afternoon after being electrocuted in Spalding County, authorities said.
The incident happened in the 2600 block of Newnan Road, the sheriff’s office said. The utility contractor, identified as Willie Benjamin Tolbert of Tyrone, was found unresponsive and died at the scene, Spalding County Capt. Dwayne Jones said in a news release.

The incident is under investigation. No other details have been released.

Clarification: An earlier version of this story stated that the worker was a Comcast employee, per the sheriff's office. However, the worker is a utility contractor and not a Comcast employee, the sheriff's office said in a later statement.
