A former mob boss was arrested on murder charges after he was found living in Atlanta under an alias.

Frank “Cadillac” Salemme, a former boss of the New England Family of La Cosa Nostra (NELCN), was arrested Wednesday and charged with murdering a federal witness, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Salemme, 82, appeared in court Wednesday in Boston.

He was living in Atlanta under the alias Richard Parker at the time of his arrest, according to the New England Cable News.

The murder charge is in connection to the disappearance of Steven A. DiSarro on May 10, 1993, in Norfolk County, Mass. DiSarro’s remains were found buried behind a mill building in Providence, R.I., in March.

Salemme could face the death penalty or life in prison with five years supervised release and a fine of $250,000 if convicted.

He was convicted for racketeering in 1999, when he testified for the government after realizing James “Whitey” Bulger and Steven “The Rifleman” Flemmi had informed the FBI of his activity.

Salemme was later convicted of obstruction of justice in 2008 for lying to federal authorities about DiSarro’s death, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
