Essence Mondesire acted like a victim, down to the missing phone, cash and clothes. She even called to report the robbery.
But Atlanta police believe Mondesire, who dances at Follies strip club on Buford Highway, was part of the crime.
Officers responded to Room 621 at the W Hotel-Downtown at about 1:30 a.m. Friday, finding Mondesire and the victim. They said two men had come in and robbed them at gunpoint — men police later determined had been summoned by Mondesire herself.
According to information released by Atlanta police, Mondesire was a “guest” of the victim and called one of the suspects — referred to as “Flip” — to come pick her up. When Flip arrived in the lobby, Mondesire met him, handed him a key to the victim’s room, and returned to the room alone.
Flip then waited for a second man to arrive, and they went to the room and “robbed the victim and Ms. Mondesire of all their clothes, cellphones and cash,” police said.
Mondesire, 21, called police but was arrested on the scene. Fulton County jail records show she was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
On Saturday, police released surveillance photos showing the two male suspects, but they had not been apprehended.
