The daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. urged the crowd to continue the fight for justice at a rally Thursday morning at the King Center in Atlanta.

“Don’t stop,” Bernice King said at the rally.

“Don’t stop until there is justice and equity for black and brown people, not just in these united States but all across the world in which that we live in,” she said.

The peaceful protest included a march, with many carrying signs, and was planned in honor of George Floyd, whose funeral is also Thursday.

Atlanta makeup stylist Anthony Armondis said the event started with a Facebook post and quickly gained momentum.

“We wanted to come together and do something together as an organized unit in spite of the the riots and the burning of the buildings,” Armondis told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Brown said the city’s police and fire departments assisted with keeping the event peaceful.

“We stood together and we marched 2.5 miles, and we honored Martin Luther King Jr. along the way,” Brown said. “This is what peaceful protesting is about.”
