Seven people were arrested after authorities concluded a seven-month investigation into drug activity at a downtown LaGrange pub.
The undercover probe at Main Street Pub wrapped up June 11, according to the GBI. The seven arrested were employees and customers. They are facing charges related to the sale of cocaine, marijuana and other drugs, the GBI said Wednesday in a news release.
“Undercover drug purchases originated and occurred inside the Main Street Pub and involved employees and patrons of the business,” the agency said.
Agents with the GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office worked with the LaGrange Police Department to conduct the investigation. Additional arrests and charges are possible, according to the GBI.
Those arrested and charged with sale of cocaine are Frederick Swint, 42, Kaen McDonald, 28, Breanna Mitchell, 24, Zaven Williams, 23, Hunter Wood, 22, and Rashawn Lovelace, 23.
A seventh person, 36-year-old Chris Sweatt, was arrested on a charge of sale of a Schedule IV drug.
Five people — Swint, McDonald, Mitchell, Williams and Wood — are also charged with use of a cellular device during the commission of a felony.
Authorities are charging Lovelace with three counts of sale of cocaine. Swint also faces a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and Wood faces an additional charge of possession of a Schedule 1 drug.
Authorities did not say which were employees and which were customers. Main Street Pub has not made a public comment on the investigation or the arrests.
None of the seven had been booked into the Troup County Jail as of Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.
