After receiving a tip, authorities arrested five people Monday who were involved in a prostitution organization, Canton police said.

Aroldo Roca-Lara, 31, of Canton, was the “proprietor of the prostitution house” in the 300 block of Archer Street, police spokesman Pacer Cordry said Tuesday in a news release. Roca-Lara was charged with possession of cocaine and obstruction.

Alicia Navarro Flores, 32, of Norcross, was at the residence when warrants were served, police said. She was charged with prostitution.

Juan Escabar-Tercero, 48, a cab driver in the Canton area, was charged with pimping.

Jesus Benigno Hernandez Velazquez, 52, of Canton, was charged with keeping a place of prostitution. Roberto Chavez-Duran, 38, of Norcross, was charged with pimping and making false statements.

The GBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad were also involved in the month-long investigation.

“A tip to CMANS led to the investigation,” Cordry said, “and authorities are asking the public to continue to report any suspicious behavior that may be linked to this type of activity.”

The investigation is ongoing.
