Two men were arrested on aggravated assault charges in Hall County after the sheriff’s office said they attacked women in two separate cases earlier this week.

In the first attack, authorities said Gustavo Contreras-Flores, 29, beat a woman he lived with in the back of the head Monday at their Gainesville home on Lyman Drive, Hall County sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware said in a statement.

After the beating, Contreras-Flores then held a knife to the woman’s throat and threatened to rape and kill her, Ware said.

In addition to aggravated assault, Contreras-Flores faces charges of battery and possession of methamphetamine. He remains in the Hall County jail on a $19,300 bond.

The following day, Hall County authorities arrested Sergio Rogelio Flowers, 29, of Gainesville, after he ran from the scene following an alleged beating.

Ware said Flowers beat a woman at their Gilleland Extention home Tuesday in front of four children. The victim and Flowers shared one of the children.

Flowers faces charges of aggravated assault, obstruction and four counts of cruelty to children in the third degree. He remains in jail on a $9,450 bond.
