Rockdale County authorities believe the same two men are responsible for back-to-back armed robberies in the Conyers area earlier this week.

A female employee was shot twice in the leg during the first robbery at an adult entertainment store late Sunday night, authorities said. She told investigators two men stormed into Starship Enterprise on Ga. 138 just after 11 p.m.

Another employee told deputies she was pistol-whipped in the face and told to take off her clothes, Channel 2 Action News reported. When she refused, they made her get on the ground.

Both victims are recovering and should be fine, the news station reported.

One of the gunmen was seen on store surveillance footage wearing a gray zippered sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and red shoes, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office. The other was wearing dark clothing and a red bandanna on his face.

After the shooting, both got into a vehicle and drove away, sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Lee Thomas said.

While investigators were on the scene of the first robbery, a second call alerted them to another robbery at the Quick Stop Superette convenience store roughly two miles away on Ga. 20.

The second incident, which happened just after midnight, was also captured on surveillance cameras.

“The male seen on surveillance footage is the same male who committed the armed robbery at Starship,” Thomas said. “The second suspect was not seen on camera.”

The shooting Sunday night is not the first time a Conyers Starship employee was injured during a robbery. In 2018, employees were beaten during an armed robbery. Deputies said at the time the incident was "aggressive and violent" and "brazen."
