A man has died after being stabbed in the neck Monday morning at the Pentagon Metro Station in Arlington, Virginia, according to Metro Transit Police.
A suspect remains at large.
The train station is near the southeast edge of the Pentagon.
Reports say the attack happened around 9 a.m.
Medical personnel treated the victim on the scene. Next, the man was rushed to a nearby trauma center where he was pronounced dead, police said.
A reporter with news station FOX5 in Washington was among to first to report the attack.
According to ARLnow.com, the stabbing occurred inside the station and left the victim with severe injuries.
Bystanders may have witnessed the killing.
The victim was a 25-year-old man and the suspect may have been a short heavy-set male who was seen fleeing the scene on a bus, according to regional freelance reporter Alan Henney.
Authorities have not yet revealed a motive for the attack.
