Incident closes parking deck at RDU, live updates, Sept. 28, 2021

The parking deck at Raleigh-Durham International Airport has reopened Tuesday night after police responded to a public safety incident, according to a tweet from airport officials.

Airports guests were asked to stay in the terminals during the search and are now allowed to return to their vehicles. Travelers arriving at the airport may now use the parking garage. We appreciate guests’ patience as we worked quickly to complete the search.

Travelers were asked to stay inside the terminals, and arriving guests were rerouted to the Economy 3 parking lot, according to airport officials.

Guests can now return to their vehicles because the search has been completed. There were unconfirmed reports of a person with a gun in the parking deck, but officials have not commented on that.
