A 71-year-old woman was killed Wednesday in a crash in north Forsyth County.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m., the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office and the Forsyth County Fire Department responded to the deadly wreck on Jot Em Down Road near County Lake Road.
Preliminary findings suggest a 2001 Toyota Sequoia headed west on Jot Em Down Road crossed over the yellow centerline and hit an eastbound 2006 Honda CR-V, sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater said Thursday in a statement.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Barbara Morgan Fowler, died on the scene. Her passenger, 75-year-old Robert Fowler, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities have not described the relationship between the two, who are both from the Forsyth County side of Dawsonville.
It is not clear if the occupants of the Toyota, driver Sean Charles Campbell and passenger Kelsey Sullivan, required medical treatment.
Campbell, 31, of Gainesville, and Sullivan, 23, of an unknown city in Forsyth County, had injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Rainwater said.
The crash remains under investigation.
