A Cobb County woman is facing DUI charges after hitting a stop sign and fire hydrant and then flipping her car, Marietta police said Thursday.

Ashley Michelle Stansell, 39, crashed her 2006 Honda Accord on Powder Springs Street after losing control near the intersection with Griggs Street at about noon, police spokesman Chuck McPhilamy told AJC.com.

The car came to a stop on its roof, just in front of the new location of the Gone With The Wind museum. The fire hydrant was damaged during the crash but not enough to release water.

Stansell admitted to drinking alcohol before driving, McPhilamy said. She registered a .097, according to the crash report. The legal limit in Georgia is .08.

The Powder Springs woman also faces several traffic offenses.

She was booked into the Smyrna city jail.
