A Midtown overpass is covered in tire marks after a group of street racers took it over during the July Fourth holiday weekend, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Video posted on Facebook shows a large crowd blocking the Peachtree Street overpass at I-85, which is near the Brookwood Amtrak station. Multiple cars can be seen doing doughnuts and burnouts in the footage, Channel 2 reported.

Atlanta police said no one was arrested or cited in connection with the incident, which occurred Sunday night.

Similar stunt driving events have been reported across metro Atlanta in recent months. Police broke up two in one weekend in May, one at The Mall West End and the other on Spring Street near the Varsity. No one was arrested at The Mall West End, but one driver was arrested at the gathering on Spring Street.

The previous month, DeKalb County police busted an illegal street racing event at North DeKalb Mall. An officer noticed several vehicles entering the mall’s parking lot April 18 and called for backup, according to police.

Most of the vehicles drove off as additional officers arrived, but two were stopped and their drivers were arrested on reckless driving charges, police said.

In Clayton County, police arrested at least three drivers after a March stunt driving event shut down the I-285 tunnel near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
