$5K reward offered, help sought to catch killers of SE Atlanta couple

"These people need to be caught," said Keith Neeley, Schiavo's stepfather. "Whoever's out there and you know what happened, you could be standing here next, because they're going to kill again."

Jackson's mother said she is haunted by memories of her son.

"I wake up every morning at 3 a.m. (from) dreaming about Johnnie being shot in the head," Taska Washington said. "Someone went into his home pretending to be his friend and took his life."

Around 3 a.m. on the morning of March 9, the couple was attacked inside their apartment at 900 Conley Road.

"We still don't know all the details, but we do know it was extremely violent, there were multiple assailants, perhaps several weapons used and multiple shots fired," Atlanta Police homicide unit Capt. Paul Guerrucci said.

Both victims were shot multiple times, police said.

APD homicide Detective James Thorpe said Jackson was killed on his sofa, and Schiavo was struck as she tried to flee the apartment.

"The girl ran through a hail of gunfire and fell down the steps outside the apartment," Thorpe said.

That's where Schiavo was found by people coming to visit the couple, police said.

She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where she died, authorities said.

Investigators arriving at the scene initially believed that Schiavo's 4-year-old son was with her at the time of the shooting, but later learned that the child was with another family member.

"It causes me so much pain because I know that Jordan will never get to hug his mother again," Schiavo's mother, Sabine Schiavo said.
