A man was found shot to death on a southwest Atlanta sidewalk Sunday morning, police said.

The body of Marcus Farmer was found in the 1500 block of Olympian Way, according to Atlanta police and the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office. Farmer, 49, of Atlanta, had been shot in the head, according to police.

Homicide detectives were on the scene for several hours Sunday morning.

“We do not know why this incident occurred,” Capt. Paul Guerrucci said. “So we are asking anybody that may have seen something, give us a call.”
