Four people died after a wreck in Bartow County Friday afternoon, including a 6-year-old, authorities confirmed.

The wreck took place on Ga. 140 near Towe Chapel Road after a 1996 Toyota Avalon driven by Shannon Hartsfield, 41, of Cartersville, allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign, Georgia State Patrol told AJC.com.

The Avalon was then struck on the driver’s side by a 2004 Ford F-150, GSP said. Three people in the F-150 were transported to the Cartersville Medical Center with minor injuries.

All four people in the Avalon, including Hartsfield, died due to injuries sustained in the crash, GSP said. Nancy Evans, 53, of Acworth, Richie Willis, 36, of Adairsville, and a 6-year-old also died.

According to a Facebook post by the Bartow County Fire Department, several emergency units and an air ambulance were at the scene after the crash, and the accident had “multiple entrapments.”
