A two-vehicle wreck involving a tractor-trailer affected traffic on I-85 North in Gwinnett County for nearly two hours Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck took place about 1:20 p.m. near the exit ramp to I-985 North, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The incident began when the driver of an SUV lost control, struck a guardrail and bounced back into the roadway, the GSP said. The vehicle then hit the tractor-trailer.
The SUV’s driver was taken to a hospital with injuries, which were not provided. The person’s condition was also not released.
Only the far right lane of travel was moving until all lanes reopened about 3:15 p.m., according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
However, delays still span several miles south to Ga. 316. The Traffic Center recommends taking Ga. 316 East, Satellite Boulevard, Buford Highway or Peachtree Industrial Parkway as alternates.
