A convicted sex offender in Illinois has been arrested in Hall County on charges of child molestation involving a 14-year-old boy, authorities said.
Bryan Gregory Fossier, 36, faces four counts of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation, Hall County sheriff’s Lt. Scott Ware said. He was arrested Wednesday, and as of Thursday afternoon remained in the Hall County Jail without bond.
Ware said Fossier knew the teenage victim.
Fossier had previously been arrested on an outstanding probation warrant. His original charges included failure to register as a sex offender in Georgia and aggravated assault.
Ware said Fossier’s sex crime took place in Chicago. According to the Illinois State Police’s sex offender registry, Fossier was convicted of sexually assaulting a victim who was at least 18 years old. He was 21 when he was arrested.

The alleged aggravated assault was domestic-related and took place in 2014, Ware said. Fossier is accused of strangling a woman with whom he lived with at the time.
In November 2013, Fossier and a woman were both arrested on second-degree child cruelty charges for leaving a 5-year-old boy alone in a cold car while trying to buy drugs in Gwinnett County, AJC.com previously reported. He was 31 years old when he was arrested.
