A suspect is in police custody after investigators said he stabbed someone Wednesday morning at a Douglas County Walmart.

Officers were sent to the store at 1100 Thornton Road about 9:40 a.m., Douglasville police said in a statement.

According to Channel 2 Action News, the suspect walked into the Walmart and started stabbing the victim.

Officers encountered the suspect, identified by police as Marcus McKinney, 26, of Dallas. He was taken into custody inside the store.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. The person’s condition was not released.

“No motive has been identified,” Douglasville police said.

The store was temporarily closed as investigators worked to determine what led to the stabbing. Walmart employees were forced to sit outside for hours until authorities started letting them reenter the store about noon.
