Two people were shot early Monday at an extended stay hotel in Riverdale, police said.

Riverdale police arrived on scene just after midnight and blocked off the parking lot at the Home Stay Suites. The hotel is located off Ga. 85 south of Garden Walk Boulevard.

Police found a man in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, according to a statement released Monday afternoon. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Several hours later, another man who also had been shot was found in the woods adjacent to the hotel, police said. Officers did not find that victim when they were originally on the scene.

It was later determined he was wanted out of South Fulton on charges of aggravated assault, according to the statement. He also was taken to Grady. Assistant police chief M.L. Reynolds told AJC.com earlier that the second victim was stable.

Police said “neither victim is currently being cooperative with the investigation.” A motive has not been determined.

A man staying at the hotel told Channel 2 Action News he heard at least 15 gunshots just after midnight. A trail of blood could be seen from the hotel to a Public Storage unit next door, the news station reported.
