A Gainesville man has been charged in the shooting death of his mother, officials said Tuesday.

Robert Timothy Stargel, 54, faces a murder charge after his mother, 69-year-old Linda Arrington, was found dead inside her home, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Arrington’s husband arrived at the home in the 200 block of Skyview Drive Monday morning and found her body, the sheriff’s office said.

He called 911, and officials determined that “foul play was suspected in the death.” Arrington was shot in the head, the statement said.

Stargel was arrested on Oak Brook Drive without incident and taken to the Hall County Jail.

Bond has not been set and the case is still under investigation.
