Florida gives Dolphins clearance for full stadium capacity

A spokesperson for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the Miami Dolphins have been given clearance to go to full capacity of 65,000 fans at Hard Rock Stadium, Andy Slater reported Wednesday.

The spokesperson told Slater that went into effect for all of Florida’s NFL teams when DeSantis lifted the state’s coronavirus restrictions. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who host the Atlanta Falcons on Jan. 3, and the Jacksonville Jaguars also play their home games in the state.

Dolphins officials, though, said their current plan of 13,000 fans remains the same for the team’s next home game, which is Oct. 25 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

“Right now with positivity rates where they are, we feel that we can keep people safe in a socially distanced environment, which is our 13,000 capacity manifest," Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel told reporter Hal Habib.
