Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World  Resort has announced it will remain closed until further notice due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to reports.

The international beloved parks run by Disney will remain closed indefinitely, according to statement on the company’s Twitter page.

"While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our guests and employees remains The Walt Disney Company's top priority," a company spokesperson said in a statement.

"As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health experts and government officials, Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will remain closed until further notice.”

Hourly workers and resort cast will  paid through April 18.

The resorts have been closed since March 15. Disney had originally reported it would remain closed until the end of March. Disney Cruise Line had also been closed since March 14, according to Wall Street Journal reporter Joe Flint.

Universal Studios and Resorts also announced it would implement a similar closure.

“Out of an abundance of caution and to assist with our nation’s preventive efforts, Universal Orlando Resort will temporarily close its theme parks,” read a statement from Universal Orlando Resort.

Earlier this week, Universal announced its theme parks in Orlando, Florida and Hollywood, California will remain closed through April 19
