Atlanta is home to the top food truck restaurant in the country.
Will Turner's Blaxican received the most votes in Mobile Cuisine's contest.
Mobile Cuisine asked its readers to nominate their favorite food trucks, and the top 10 were put up for a nationwide vote.
"I feel like I have been given a report card by my industry, and it was straight A's," Turner said Monday.
"I am focused on producing good food, providing great service and serving those less fortunate, and this achievement is a great way to celebrate that focus.
"The fact that people took time out of their day to cast a vote for us means we are accomplishing our goal. I am glad to see a Georgia food truck acknowledged on a national level, because this state has some amazing trucks operated by some amazing people."
About 7,000 people voted, and after votes were counted and recounted, Blaxican came out on top.
"Blaxican" is a slang word used to describe biracial people of Mexican and African-American descent, and Turner says on his website that it was the perfect word to describe his Mexican soulfood fusion.
But Blaxican serves more than just collard green quesadillas and barbecue sweet potato fries. Using tips received on the food truck and donations made on the website, Blaxican said it serves the community by helping to feed people at a number of Atlanta shelters.
On Easter, for example, the Blaxican team fed about 100 foster children and families at United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur, using tips from customers.
