Volunteer James Hemphill has his photo taken with Arthur Blank. More than 180 associates of the Blank Family of Businesses lay the groundwork for the first park for current residents of the English Avenue community of Atlanta Friday, April 4, 2014. During its Sixth Annual All-Associates Day, volunteers from all of the businesses, including Arthur Blank, Mike Smith, Thomas Dimitroff and Rich McKay will grab their rakes, shovels, paint brushes and weed trimmers to start to build Lindsay Street Park in the English Avenue neighborhood. In addition, other Blank associates will add an artistic element to the park utilizing an abandoned house on the site, painting and transforming it into a temporary art installation with the help of Dashboard Co-op. The English Avenue area currently does not have a park of its own, and this addition will provide important greenspace and recreational opportunities to improve the health and quality of life of its residents.
