The five leading candidates for mayor of Atlanta joined The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for the newsroom’s Community Conversation series on Oct. 4.

AJC City Hall reporters Wilborn P. Nobles III and J.D. Capelouto asked questions of each candidate during the 90-minute online forum, including the question in the video at top of this story: How will your policies be unique.

The full question, intended to help the approximately 41% of undecided voters distinguish between the candidates: “What is one specific plan or policy that you have that none of the other candidates have proposed?”

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll of 842 likely voters in September found a plurality of Atlanta voters still undecided. The ballot includes 14 candidates. For its forum, the AJC invited the five candidates who received at least 1% support in the poll. Read the questions and answers from the AJC poll.

Participating in the forum were City councilmembers Antonio Brown and Andre Dickens, along with attorney Sharon Gay, Council President Felicia Moore, and former mayor Kasim Reed. AJC political reporter Greg Bluestein was the moderator.

The candidates also were asked about Atlanta crime, the Buckhead Cityhood proposal and whether The Atlanta Way still works for everyone. Read more.
