It’s another bitterly cold morning in metro Atlanta on Friday, but the good news is that 30-degree temperatures are out of the forecast at least for the next several days.

Morning temps are in the 20s and 30s across much of the area. In the city, temps are in the low 40s thanks to the urban heat dome, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Ashley Kramlich said.

Skies will be mostly cloudy this afternoon, but highs should climb into the mid to upper 50s.

“You’ll see a little bit of sunshine early this morning, and then the clouds really arrive through midday into the afternoon,” Kramlich said.

Overnight, lows will stay in the 40-degree range. By the afternoon Saturday, temps should top out in the mid 50s again.

In fact, temperatures are expected to hold steady in the 50s and 40s for highs and lows through the weekend. A chance of scattered showers returns on Sunday, and 60-degree highs return on Monday and stick around at least through the middle of next week.
