It might not feel like heavy winter coat weather as you walk out the door this morning, but metro Atlanta temperatures will plummet Wednesday, and you’ll want that jacket for the ride home.
“We’re going to turn much colder. Winds are really going to be an issue as we head into the afternoon,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.
Early morning temperatures were in the 50s, but many locations will be in the low 40s by lunchtime Wednesday, Deon said. With winds that could gust up to 30 mph, it’s going to feel more like the low 30s.
With the combination of strong winds and the widespread rain that has fallen over the last few days, there is also the chance that some trees could fall, Deon warned.
Overnight, temperatures will continue dropping into the low 30s. On Thursday, though, highs will climb back into the 50s, and it’ll be bright and sunny.
Some clouds will return on Friday, but temps should hold steady in the 50s and 40s for highs and lows through the weekend, with a chance of scattered showers returning on Sunday.
