A person was found dead early Thursday morning on a Kennesaw road with apparent gunshot wounds, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the area of Moon Station Road shortly after 3 a.m. in regard to a person laying on the roadway, according to a spokesperson for the Kennesaw Police Department.

“Upon their arrival, officers determined the subject to be deceased from apparent gunshot wounds,” the spokesperson said.

No further information about the deceased person has been provided as police continue to investigate.

Atlanta police are separately investigating the death of a 52-year-old man shot about 3 a.m. Thursday. The Atlanta Police Department said homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances around the shooting at 1162 Booker Ave. SW.
