FRIDAY’S WEATHER | More scattered showers and storms through weekend

After a weeks-long dry spell, metro Atlanta is in a wet pattern for the next several days. But we’ll still have plenty of dry time to get outdoors.

Highs will stay in the low to mid 90s for the foreseeable future, and with rain adding humidity, it’s going to feel hotter than that. Feels like temps will be in the upper 90s.

On Friday, showers and storms arrive in the afternoon around 1 p.m., Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. Any rain should clear out by late tonight closer to 11 p.m., and Saturday is expected to start out dry before repeating the afternoon rain pattern.

“We’re getting into that summertime pattern, the afternoon showers and storms,” Monahan said.

The good news is that, “none of these days, today or into the weekend, are going to be a washout,” he said. “But will there be interruptions to outdoor plans? Yeah, there are going to be.”

So get out, have some weekend fun outdoors, just have a contingency plan in case a rain cloud parks over you for a few minutes. And don’t forget to hydrate and apply sunscreen or wear other protective gear, even if it’s cloudy.
