Cloudy morning, sunny afternoon with low chance for stray shower

It’s Thursday, and we have a few more clouds in the sky over metro Atlanta, but we will still have plenty of sunshine this afternoon.

Morning temperatures are in the 60s and 70s ahead of sunrise. By the afternoon, temps will top out in the mid 80s. In the city, the high will be 85 degrees.

The cloud cover will break up as the morning wears on, too, “and we’ll see more sunshine as we get into the late morning and early part of the afternoon,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

As for rain, there is a very slight chance, just 10%, of seeing a stray rain shower.

“Any rain that we do see is very spotty and not lasting all that long, more of a nuisance than anything,” Deon said.

Overnight, temperatures take another dip into the 60s, making for a slightly cooler morning on Friday.

Highs Friday and into the weekend will stay in the mid to upper 80s. Sunday will mark the return of 90-degree highs.
