As it turns out, the State Road and Tollway Authority isn’t quite ready to make the Peach Pass “peachier.”

The authority announced Thursday that drivers who use a Peach Pass to pay for tolls have more time to make sure their accounts are up-to-date before the system is taken offline for upgrades.

The authority had planned to begin its transition to a new app and website Thursday, which would have cut off user access to electronic toll payment accounts for five days. The agency, which said in a press release last week that the changes will make for an “even peachier experience,” now says it will delay the transition until after the holidays to give drivers more time to prepare.

A new date hasn’t yet been scheduled.

“We wanted to account for the fact that the holiday season is a busy time of the year,” an agency spokeswoman said in a statement. “We can be flexible so that they aren’t experiencing inconvenience.”

Drivers still need to make sure their Peach Pass contact information is current.

The agency is updating MyPeachPass.com and the Peach Pass Go! mobile app with easier navigation, a simplified design and improved quick pay features. App users will need to download a new version once the app is live.
